The Sarcophyton species is generally peaceful toward other tankmates. Many consider the Sarcophyton species a low-maintenance specimen. Has low lighting needs.Symbiotic algae zooxanthellae are hosted within this organism. Will be shipped attached to a rock. Can detach frags to reproduce easily. Tends to grow a covering that may appear cellphane like. After a few days it may slough this covering and open like normal. This is how the coral rids itself of any algae growth or dead skin cells. Take care in placement of this coral as the material it sloughs can cause irritation to other corals.
