The Abudefduf saxatilis grows up to 6 inches.  The small size will come to you generally 1 to 3 inches.  The Sergeant Major Damsel prefers a tank of at least 30 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim.  The Abudefduf saxatilis is a omnivore and likes to eat variety of foods (meats & veggies).  The Sergeant Major Damsel is a low maintenance fish.  The Sergeant Major Damsel may act aggressively toward other fish.  This is a hardy fish.  Able to breed.  Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 - 1.025, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Temp. 72 - 78° F).  Indo-Pacific.  Abudefduf saxatilis (Linnaeus 1758), the Sergeant Major. Very similar to the Indo-west Pacific Abudefduf vaigensis, discerned by its further back fourth black body bar. These fish are aggressive and territorial and can harass fish many times it's size. It is not suitable for a peaceful community tank.
