LRI is well known for it's intensly bright colors of their seahorses and in all honesty it's pretty easy to accomplish.  Most seahorses such as Kelloggi, the Great Seahorse, Fuscus, Erectus, Brazillian, Reidi, Pygmy or Dwarf Seahorses just to mention a few naturally turn the color of their surrounding environment as a natural way of predator survival similar to some species of Octopi (the octopus), pipefish and many fish known as the chameleon effect!

Using a Hitching post in the bright color you want your seahorse to remain or convert to will greatly enhance this for most species.  We do the same on our farm and from personal experience I have never seen our seahorses turn so bright as when we use the seahorse hitchin' post.

It's really just chain links made of non-toxic plastic in the color you want your seahorse to be and it floats.  Attatch it to a couple pieces of PVC pipe or to rock (see image below) and watch colors shine! 

There's nothing more aggrivating that going to your local pet store and paying 4x more for a bright pure white, orange, black or yellow seahorse just to find it fade or completely change in color when introduced to your tank.  Add this chain to your tank as a "Play Ground" about your tank and leave it there on a regular basis to keep their colors super bright and just remove the chain when you have company over or want to show off your new brightly colored animals in the tank without the obstruction of a plastic play ground if you desire.  We have been doing this for years in our show room tanks and it really makes a difference and you just can't beat the price for what you get.
