Detailed Description: Brand New Introduction!
Never seen before, Living Reef Imports LLC. brings you the new Tahiti White Mineral Rock! This rock makes an incredible site especially for those who display a darker sand bed like CaribSea's Indo Pacific Live Sand. This rock helps keep mineral and trace elements in the tank void of any copper and is perfect for fresh or saltwater. I personally use it in our fish farm where we breed CRS or Crystal Red Shrimp and add it to tanks like Discus tanks or Reef Systems where RO or RODI water is typically used lacking vital mineral and trace elements. This is not a man made rock! It is natural rock with natural features that vary from rock to rock. Some with caves, some without, most with incredible and unusual shape and structure. The rock is semi-dense and medium - heavy in weight compared to standard lime stone Fiji live rock. I have personally setup a Nano Tank in our show room on Black Sand and is our most popular reef tank for it's unique appearance. Because of this contrast, our corals just blossom and really stand out like they should.
Keep in mind this rock is very rare to come by and we don't know how long we will have it for so get it while you can. Right now, Living Reef Imports LLC. has exclusive rights on this rock. As long as we do, we will keep the price this low. If it goes public, plan on paying upwards of $9 or more a pound for base rock. As with all rock, all rock will vary in but not limited to size, shape, color, quality, density, etc. Because of the rocks makeup, it tends to grow coralline algae in reef systems much faster and thicker than most other rock. Given proper lighting and additives as mentioned below, this rock will bloom with life and coralline algae just as nice as any ultra premium rock and is great for the budget minded or for lower levels of rock below high quality grade rock which should always be used on the top layer.
Living Reef Imports LLC. is a world renowned importer and distributor of live rock and transships more varieties of live rock than any other distributor. This rock does not pass through several hands before it gets to our customers. We have it collected and imported directly into the United States where it is then distributed by us throughout the world. This rock is brand new but we only expect to bring in maybe a pallet worth once every couple months as it is hard to obtain. Our rock will smell and look like you collected it right out of the ocean yourself. No more concern of rotten, smelly high ammonia rock to worry about.
Typical Use: Bottom to Top layer for best show display. A tank can be made beautifully with 100% Tahiti White Live Rock!
Recommended Shipping: We only recommend shipping via Air Cargo or 2nd Day Air or faster to deliver such fine quality rock in the best possible condition. Being base rock, UPS Ground is fine if better shipping conditions are not within your budget.
Typical Use in Freshwater Systems: Rinse and Add directly to your tank!

Recommended Care for Marine Reef Hobbyists: We highly recommend first, that you read our FREE live rock care package specifically written to make your getting the most out of your rock enjoyable and not work. You will need lighting at least 4 watts per gallon of water with 50% being Actinic 03 Blue and 50% Day Light 10,000k. Necessary supplements are Iodine, Strontium, Molybdenum and liquid Calcium. Smaller all-in-one packages by Seachem and Kent Marine are available for nano systems. Purchase these items through us at wholesale and we will ship them with your rock FREE of any additional shipping charge! When ordering these items at the same time you place your order for your rock, our system will automatically deduct the shipping costs for you, so get your supplements now. They truly are needed. One final note, when cleaning your rock, we highly recommend the use of RockPrep™ to clean and detoxify the rock and PurpleUp™ in addition to the above supplements to pull even stronger blue and purple coralline algae out from the rock.

Updated Note as of June 27, 2009 We normally have this rock sitting in our vats for some time to aquaculture them but for this one penny sale, they will be shipped dry. This means more rock for you but the bacteria on them will be dry which is okay. Once put in the tank just like the dry bacteria you buy in a store, it comes alive again. Anyway, we are just getting rid of the rock and our wet tanks at this facility are tore down while we move into our new facility so just wanted everyone to know. Hey, it's practically free anyway ;)
