For years the koi industry has favored filter brushes for their ability to provide filtration without blocking water flow (even when dirty)! Filter brushes greatly increase the time between cleanings!

Filter brushes cost more but reduce cleaning frequency and are less restrictive so pumps are less likely to run low on water. Filter brushes are 15" long. (shown here without debris net).
