Detailed Description:
The very BEST in base rock anywhere! This is not the same as our Hawaiian "Live" Base Rock. This is "DRY" Base Rock for use in either Fresh or Marine Applications. Primarily lava based stone rock as typically found all around Hawaii in various shades of tan and brown. This is by far the best base rock sold anywhere with incredible shapes perfect for building caves, arches, and shelf pieces far more spectacular than Fiji or any other on the market. It's heavier and shaped better than Fiji which makes it perfect for larger fish, larger snails like Mexican turbos, and even larger eels like morays that normally would knock over Fiji rock. This is a very secure stable rock that holds it's shape well. All rock will vary in but not limited to size, shape, color, quality, hitch hikers, density, etc. The rock is medium in density weight compared to other rocks and is typically loaded with holes, crevices and unique shapes great for fresh, marine or reef tank use. Coralline algae will grow very quickly following the instructions in our live rock care package, so if structure and shape is more important than initially coloring in order to build awesome structures in your tank, this is the rock that you want!

Typical Use:
This fine rock may be used anywhere from just the base section of your tank and then more premium rock can be planted atop of it, or you may stock your entire tank with it from top to bottom.

We only recommend shipping via Air Cargo or 2nd Day Air or faster to deliver such fine quality rock in the best possible condition. However, being that this is base rock, most customers choose slower UPS Ground shipping to save on money. If you do this, just buy a good bacteria. If setting up a Marine Tank, use Marine Nitromax bacteria or if a Freshwater Setup, use our Freshwater Nitromax bacteria. For marine use, the necessary additives below will boost coralline growth.
Recommended Marine/Reef Care:
We highly recommend first, that you read our FREE live rock care package specifically written to make your getting the most out of your rock enjoyable and not work. You will need lighting at least 4 watts per gallon of water with 50% being Super Actinic 03 Blue and 50% Super Day Light 10,000k.
