A strikingly marked species, this frog has a back which is colored a rich mahogany brown, with a cream band down each side, usually with a darkish edge. It is round shaped, and doesnt have much of a neck so it looks somewhat chubby.These frogs get to be about 7-8 cm long.These frogs are mostly terrestrial and need well planted terrarium with little shelters or hiding places. They like to dig in or hide under something most of the time.Suggested substrates include potting soil, soil/peat mixture, sand mix, or orchid bark, sphagnum moss/mulch substrate.The gravel is probably kind of rough on their skin.Also include a large shallow water bowl. Keep the humidity high by misting the tank a couple times a day.
