The Pomacanthus paru grows up to 15 inches. small 2 to 3; inches; medium 3 to 4; inches; large 5 to 7 inches; XL 7 to 10 inches. Sizes may vary slightly due to availability. The French Angel prefers a tank of at least 100 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim. The Pomacanthus paru is a omnivore and likes to eat marine algae, mysid shrimp, Spirulina, sponges, and other meaty treats. The French Angel is a medium maintenance fish. The French Angel may act semi-aggressively toward other fish. Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 - 1.025, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Temp. 72 - 78° F). the Caribbean, South America, Florida, Northern Gulf of Mexico, Bermuda, and Caribbean, south to Brazil. Pomacanthus paru (Bloch 1787), the French Angelfish. Another standard in the aquarium trade. Beautiful and hardy, and large.Full size angels should not be mixed with other full size angels, unless it is in a tank of at least 180 gallons. One of the most popular of Angels, the French Angel is definitely a beautiful fish to have swimming in the home Aquarium. Juveniles of the French Angel will clean fish in the wild of various Ecto-Parasites, and will exhibit this behavior in the Aquarium as well. The closely related Gray Angel, is found in some of the French Angels range, but the two are different in coloration. Colors between the two in the Juvenile stage are not easily distinguished, but the French Angel has a yellow rim on the outer edge of the Caudal fin, while the Gray does not. In the adults, the French Angel has yellowish gold scales on a Black body, while the Gray Angel is completely grayish black.
