Crocodile geckos are native to the steppe like rocky habitats of the Mediterranean Region. They are most active around dusk and dawn. They should have a winter rest period of 8 weeks at 50°F. Maximum size: 6” Lighting: Full spectrum fluorescent UV bulbs will bring out the natural coloring of these lizards. Temperature range: Day 72°-82°F Night 59°-68°F Food: Crickets and mealworms coated in calcium and vitamin powder. Water: A bowl of clean water should always be available. Housing/Habitat: An aquarium equipped with an under tank heating pad at one end and lizard litter substrate. Landscape to simulate rocky steppes and provide slightly damp hiding places. Daily misting the substrate under the hiding places until it is wet should keep them damp.
