The Camel Shrimp has a red and white color. The Camel Shrimp may grow to 2 inches. Carnivore. It likes to eat eats meaty bits of seafood, and detritus. May pick at zoanthids and other polyps.. The Rhynchocinetes uritai is generally semi-aggressive toward other tankmates. Many consider the Rhynchocinetes uritai a low-maintenance specimen. Not venomous. The Camel Shrimp is a very attractive, red and white striped shrimp. It is often mistaken for the peppermint shrimp, but is actually quite different. Camel shrimp are more opaque, have eyes that bend slightly outward, and have a distinctive hump back. Camel shrimp are social and prefer to be kept in small groups, but are fine solitary. These are not reef safe, as they have been known to pick at polyps of some soft corals. As such, they do well in a mixed invert and fish tank with plenty of live rock, but should be kept away from zoanthids and other soft corals, and any crustacean eating fish. Like most invertebrates, acclimate slowly using a drip acclimation technique. Keep water quality high (SG 1.023 - 1.025, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Temp. 72 - 78° F).
