| Along with there being so many different grades of rock, it's also worth noting that they come from many different areas and oceans as well. Some people like to have rock from a single location while others like to mix and match pieces from different locations to build intricate formations and increase the biodiversity within the tank. Rock from all the different collection points have different properties and amounts required.

Detailed Description: Brand New Introduction!
A consolodated mix of live rock all premium or better in quality of mixed imported rock to small (typically .5" - 4" inches) we normally sell as our regular live rock, but do no not meet our minimum size requirements, thus is considered rubble and sold as very high quality bio-rock. Such types of rock included may contain one or more of the following types of species (Fiji, Tonga, Marshal, Hawaiian, Buna, Solomon, Haiti, South Pacific, or other). Coloration will vary from deep purples encrusted with heavy coraline algae, plant growth and polyps to white like base rock. In either case, all the rock is heavily loaded with beneficial bacteria for the purpose it is intended for which is sump or refugium bio-rock. You can make your own with another tank or even use your existing wet/dry system by tossing the bio-balls and upgrading it with our high grade Living Reef Imports Premium Bio-Rock!

This photo is an actuall photo from one of our bio-rock vats however, coloration will vary with each shipment. We also throw a lot of our frags into these vats because we don't care to take the time to sepperate good from bad and resell all our frags off our fine corals in most cases. Alot of our customers have claimed they used a lot of our bio-rock and frags found for actual decor on their reef systems!
NEWEST SCIENTIFIC REPORT Shows that using Natural Bio-Rock instead of Bio-Balls has a much different affect on the Redox levels in your Reef or Saltwater Tank lowering toxic Redox levels and with natural growing micro and macro algaes, will reduce your Nitrate levels to 0ppm's creating perfect water quality!!!!!!!!
Base rock is generally rock that was once live but for some reason or other was allowed to completely die off, generally because it has been dried out for an extended period of time. It is generally used as a less expensive foundation for larger tanks and is a great way to save on costs. Although it doesn't have any immediate benefits for the tank, over time with the addition of some premium grade live rock, it too will become live, teaming with various life forms.

Recommended Shipping: We only recommend shipping via Air Cargo or 2nd Day Air or faster to deliver such fine quality rock in the best possible condition. Being base rock, UPS Ground is fine if better shipping conditions are not within your budget.
