The Hemiscyllium ocellatum grows up to 48 inches.  This fish will come to you generally around 9 - 14 inches in size  The Epaulette Shark prefers a tank of at least 180 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim.  The Hemiscyllium ocellatum is a carnivore and likes to eat variety of chopped crustaceans, fish pieces, shrimp, shellfish, squid.  The Epaulette Shark is a high maintenance fish.  The Epaulette Shark may act aggressively toward other fish. Not Venemous but may bite if provoked.  This is not a hardy fish.  Able to breed.  Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 - 1.025, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Temp. 72 - 78° F).  Australia.  Prefers tidepools and reefs, the Epaulette shark is touted as one of the best sharks for the home aquarium. Best kept alone, it likes to find a cave or ledge to sit on. Likes to perch near staghorn corals particularly. Will dig in sand, be sure rock structure is secure. May bite if provoked.
