 The Pterois antennata grows up to 8 inches.  The small size will come to you generally 1½ to 3 inches; the medium generally 3 to 5 inches; the large generally 5 to 8 inches.  The Antennata Lionfish prefers a tank of at least 30 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim.  The Pterois antennata is a carnivore and likes to eat variety of live foods (shrimp & fish).  The Antennata Lionfish is a low maintenance fish.  The Antennata Lionfish may act aggressively toward other fish. THIS FISH IS VENEMOUS. The pelvic, pectoral and dorsal fins of this fish can cause extreme pain. Severe reactions can occur if allergic. If stung soak injured area in hot water and seek medical attention.  This is a hardy fish.  Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 - 1.025, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Temp. 72 - 78° F).  Indo-Pacific.  This species is covered by our Arrive Alive gurantee only on the medium & large sizes. Pterois antennata (Bloch 1787), the Antennata Lion, also known as the Broad-Banded Firefish, is often confused with the volitans species. Antennata lions have strikingly different pectoral fin rays. These fins are long, the thickness of pencil lead and bright white. Also, remember the name Antennata for it's relation to the black and white antennae (supraorbital flaps) and the six prominent spots on their face. THIS FISH IS VENEMOUS.
