After several weeks, I've lost all color on my Fiji Live rock and it looks like nothing more than Base Rock! I should have said something sooner but what can we do now?

I wish you would have said something immediately.  I would have been more than happy to send you out another case and have that other case picked up but UPS isn’t going to accept a claim this late in the receipt now.  Both us and UPS needs to be notified within 24 hours of receipt of any problem.  Here’s some information that might help you out to understand http://www.oceanproaquatics.com/shop/activekb/index.php?query=refund&ToDo=search if you’re interested all of your questions which are answered in detail for our customers both on our site and on the ad of eBay where we have a question form, is our knowledgebase as well to help our ebay friends.

In short, at this point I don’t know what to do for you as my hands are tied for a refund or replacement but if you were to order another case, I would be more than happy to take care of you and ship one out at our cost because of your kind email.  I guarantee that when our rock is shipped out, it’s premium fiji if that’s what the box says as we get it directly from Walt Smith who marks his premium at his facility, we inspect it first and then tran ship direct to you as quick as you request it.  I don’t recall how fast you shipped but 2 days or quicker is always suggested although the majority of our customers choose less expensive slower methods and expect some die off.

If you can use another case at my cost, you could use the other as beneficial premium base rock, cover it with fresh rock and the coralline algae will spread very quickly under ideal conditions to your other rock.  Out of curiosity, what chemical additives have you been adding to your rock, what type of lighting do you have and how many gallons is your tank?  Maybe I can help you locate a problem somewhere?  Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, pH, Calcium level, Salinity, Temperature, and any other information you could provide me with would be helpful in my helping you figure out what might have happened.  We typically under the right conditions can turn our in-house base rock into bright purple rock in less than a week – and that’s from nothing but the lowest level base rock so all is not lost if you do this right!  Let me see what I can do to help you out.  We value your business and friendship.

Respectfully,
Michael D. Baker, President
