My name is Michael D. Baker, President and CEO of Oceanpro Aquatics, Inc. which has been in business for well over two decades (established 1984). 

Oceanpro is highly functional, still very profitable and "is not going out of business".  We have distributors worldwide and are primarily an import company which private labels products and ships them back out internationally.  Most of our business is within the United States and Canada but already establishing areas in the UK and Puerto Rico.

Note:  If you are out of state, you can still viably purchase and operate the company but is still best operated for convenience of our location between LAX and ONT two major international airports.  You can still operate in comfort if you are located within a 3 hour drive to an International Airport.  Florida would be another very viable location for a company like ours.  Reopening in and relocating the business in another city, county or state is no problem.

  • EBay :  I use to make approx $50k monthly but choose not to advertise on eBay any longer because of the conflict of interest with the pet center retailers and distributors we sell to and leave eBay now to them.

Income is based on the "current" amount we bring in even during this recession.  Being a very unique one of a kind company and the only one which operates the way we do, we still thrive while other companies are sadly enough going out of business.  Frankly speaking, others going out of business "is" part of our business.  We buy companies going out of business for pennies on the dollar and liquidate the product to our retailers and distributors who are thirsty for deep discounts especially now, more than ever.

COMPANY HISTORY & INFORMATION

Established in 1984, Oceanpro Aquatics, Inc. has a longevity record with a standard for quality that speaks for itself.  Very few companies can maintain a Such a perfect rating with the Better Business Bureau for so long as we have.  The company quickly became one of our nations largest Custom Built Aquarium System Consultant Manufacturers / Installers, Live coral and fish importation direct from the islands that rival all other wholesalers, Live Rock & Live Sand international Import / Export distributors and continued to grow with the only restriction being the fact that it was owned solely by one owner who never took out any loans on the company to allow it to expand larger than it has already. 

All equipment is included in the purchase price.  Inventory will be added to the total sale price at time of sale.  Included with the sale, a full staff of employees is available and would like to stay on with the company, all of which are experienced and able to help keep the business running with out interruption in the transfer.  The current owner and president Michael D. Baker will also stay on staff free of charge for a full month to make certain everything continues to grow and help train the new owner how the company has run and currently does business especially if you aren't familiar with this type of industry.  If you are buying the company to transfer it out of state and plan on training and hiring a new staff, the offer still stands that the president will come down to help train for the entire period of a month if needed.  All product, office equipment and inventory will be trucked up to where ever the company moves if you don't want to run it from here.  I will note that it'll be very difficult to get the monthly lease we have here because we've been here in this location so long but this isn't to say you couldn't operate the whole operation right from your home and I'll show you how!

  • Sale Distributorships:  I've sold a number of distributorships in the USA which is similar to a franchise.  I have sold several as high as $178k each to as low as $10k each depending upon regional location and value the distributor has to our company.  I choose not to over populate with to many distributors so they don't overlap each other but this would be up to the new owner to decide how they want to run this business.  Distributors bring in a very large portion of your orders because where I use to turn down about 70% of my business, my distributors act almost like satellite offices for you serving all the customer base and just fax in their orders to you for drop shipping to which you make money on also.  They also provide you with high capital gains to have buying power not normally at your fingers which you pass the deals on to them so everyone makes great money.  It's a win win opportunity for both sides.
  • General Resellers: We have stacks of resellers and pet centers who buy at regular discount prices (not as deep as distributors get) and this generates another monthly income from memership fees as well as all the sales but you can also direct these resellers to your distributors if they are local to each other so you don't have to even deal with them all individually, but rather deal with just one buyer (your distributor).

  • Right up front, let me explain that after a career in law enforcement, I retired to this company and it's simply grown to large for me to continue and still call myself retired.  I've made well over five times that of when I held a law enforcement position and my family has been well taken care of.  I now have enough money put away to move to the islands and retire for good.  What I'll do I'm not certain, but I do know it's time to pass the company on.  It's definitely not one to just shut down.  To many people depend upon it's existence to keep their businesses running and is to profitable to not sale.  I'm motivated though and is why I've priced it so low.  A couple years ago I had a finance company come in and appraised the company to be valued at 2.3 million dollars.  I've personally spent more than that to build it up to what it is, but that's okay.  I understand we are in a recession and is why I'm offering to even help  finance if necessary.
